Carolyn Benson’s musical career inspiration began in musical theater at a very young age, always participating and performing in grade school productions. This never stopped over the years, and Carolyn went on to attend the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music to further her natural musical talents and pursue a higher education in music performance. Following conservatory, Carolyn took a step back from music after meeting her husband to be. They were married and together have two lovely children, but her passion for music never ceased calling her back to the stage.
Being a lover of Linda Ronstadt’s music, in all of its styles and nuances, Carolyn formed a Linda Ronstadt tribute band called "Blue Bayou", which garnered much success and recognition. This allowed her to build her repertoire and exercise her vocal and stage talents.
With many live performances under her belt and production offers since then, Carolyn sought out to honor the inner voice that had been her beacon all along by returning to the stage with original music and original arrangements of popular songs. Currently, Carolyn is working with and being produced by Juilliard graduate and international multi-instrumentalist, Gray Devio. Together, they are excited to continue the realization of Carolyn's musical potential and deliver it to the world.
